A South Florida real estate developer, E. Llwyd Ecclestone Jr. has contributed his time and wealth to support the community to which he belongs. A resident of West Palm Beach, Llwyd Ecclestone Jr. was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for his lifetime commitment to community.


The Ellis Island Medal of Honor is awarded to those who have exhibited a commitment to community through professional, civic, or cultural service. The medal is awarded through the Ellis Island Honors Society, an organization that recognizes the importance of immigration as advancing prosperity and one that celebrates contributions that immigrants and their children have made to the country. Since its inception, the medal has been considered one of the country’s most prestigious in that its recipients are read into the Congressional Record.

Moreover, those given the award have selflessly worked toward improving the lives of Americans as well as the country itself. Recipients, in the course of their service, have exhibited integrity through honorable acts and a passion for the causes for which they worked. They also have been recognized for professional, academic, and humanitarian achievements. Finally, the award also measures the person’s accomplishments by looking at the contributions that have been made to people who belong to their heritage.
