Federal lawmakers also proposed that the Global Intangible Low-Tax Income (GILTI) on global companies be increased from 10.5 percent to 16.5 percent. Florida 100’s argument against these policies is that taxes will affect not only corporations but also small businesses, hurting the SMEs that Florida’s local economies depend on. In its policy letter, the council also cites the hardship the pandemic is causing businesses as a reason they believe Florida congress members should not support these policies.

Palm Beach’s Shore Protection Board’s

As a Palm Beach, Florida-based real estate developer, E. Llwyd Ecclestone, Jr. has been engaged in multiple projects throughout his career. He served as the chairman of the construction committee that oversaw a two-year expansion of the Palm Beach International Airport. E. Llwyd Ecclestone, Jr. also served as the chairman of the Town of Palm Beach Shore Protection Board.

The Shore Protection Board of Palm Beach Town advises and makes recommendations to the town council concerning shore protection, beach nourishment, coastal armoring, coastal management, the sand transfer plant, and other matters concerning the Lake Worth Lagoon shoreline. Members of the board must be knowledgeable about any of the concepts listed above.

The Shore Protection Board consists of seven members who the Town Council appoints. Board members must be residents of Palm Beach, and each member shall serve for a three-year term. One member of the board may not be a resident of the town on the condition that they possess special skills or knowledge related to coastal management, beach nourishment, and shore protection. People who want to become board members must complete their applications and attach proof of their residency in Palm Beach.

 

Florida 100 Applauds the State Government for COVID-19 Protection Law

Llwyd Ecclestone, Jr. is a member of the Florida Council of 100.
